BulletSafe Ballistic Plates offer Level IV protection when used in conjunction with the BulletSafe Bulletproof Vests. Adding ballistic plates to your bullet proof vest gives you the highest level of protection available. This combination protects you not only from handgun fire, but from rifle fire as well. The ceramic plate fits securely in the pocket of bullet proof and plate carrier vests and measures 11 7/8" tall, x 10" across x 0.80" in depth. It is curved to fit close to your body, and features a nylon cover that protects it from the sun and typical wear and tear. Plate weighs only 5.65 lbs, and is made from a ceramic material that contains alumina and High Strength Polyethylene. This plate is significantly lighter than a steel plate while comparable in price. Plate can be used alone and will protect against non-armor piercing .223 and 7.62 x 51mm rounds. For heavier rounds and level IV protection, the plate needs to be used in conjunction with a bulletproof vest.
