A very rare and unique find. Only 600 pairs of these were ever made, and there are very few in as good a condition as the ones we have. These U.S. marked canvas suspenders were experimental suspenders designed and created in 1950 to be used by paratroopers. Production began in 1951 and continued into early 1953. They feature the same X-style straps as the WWII suspenders, but marked the debut of the "bottle opener" connectors that allowed a sleeping bag to attach directly onto the suspenders. These connectors were later made universal in the M-56 H type suspenders that were used in Vietnam.

After issuing these to select paratroopers, the US Government took the remainder and sold them to the French military for use by the French Foreign Legion overseas. This particular stock that we have was obtained in Europe in great condition. They are such great shape that they are potentially unissued, but we can't be sure. Very few of this experimental design exists anywhere in the world, so get them before they're gone!
